You can do this and people can "follow" you which means that they can see what you are saying. Twitter is not limited, you can expand and follow other people that you wouldn't normally talk to. This gives you the ability to let your circle of friends grow and grow.
Twitter is useful for for pretty much every area in your life. In your business you can tweet about how business is going and what is to come next. In your social life you can tell people what you are doing and connect with people. Through twitter you can meet up with somebody and get something to eat. When you are at a concert or big event you can tweet about it and let people know how it is. Also people from japan can send out tweets and let people know what is going on and if you are safe.
People may abuse this because the people reading your tweets could possible follow you. You have no privacy, everybody knows what you are doing and where are you.
