Myspace and Facebook

Facebook and Myspace are social networking service. Members may create their own personal profile, add new friends, send messages to people and there is also automatic notifications when you profile is updated. Facebook was created in February 2004 by a private owned facebook inc created by Mark Zuckerberg. The point of these social networks to connect with other people, and see possible opportunities. With the use of social networking you can see possible job positions, meet new friends and even find a life long partner. Facebook and Myspace keep you updated with people and companies information and personal lives. You can always know what people are doing, thinking or how their lives are going through the use of Facebook. You can keep track of your favorite celebrities, and keep up with the recent news and events. All this information can be found on peoples profiles, which give names, pictures, biography and people relationship status. This can be abuses though...people can stalk and follow you and you might not even know about it. People can fake their names, information and pictures just to get you to talk to them. The bad thing is you never know who you are really talking to because people are never who they say they are on these social networking websites.

LinkedIn

LinkedIn is one of the worlds largest professional networking systems. What LinkedIn does for you is connect you to others and spread ideas, knowledge with other professionals and companies. LinkedIn allows you to control your online identity, so therefore when you go to google yourself online LinkedIn profiles come up first and this allows you to give your best first impression to people you don't know. This is good for business because a companies first idea of you is of the most important. LinkedIn also helps you keep in contact with friends, colleagues and stay social. When you or someone else change jobs or locations you will always keep their updated information and contacts. LinkedIn also helps you stay updated with the news. You lets you know about new and up coming job opportunities, and sales leads and business partners. It can really help you in your professional life. This also has the potential for abuse. Since people can make up their own profiles and information it may not be as reliable. Some may but information about a job that isn't true or even a job may not even 100% happen. It can lead people on and let them down.

Critical Twitter Review

Twitter is a form of social networking, such as facebook. It is also a form of blogging, micro blogging. It lets people know what you are doing, where you are or what you may be thinking. You can do this and people can "follow" you which means that they can see what you are saying. Twitter is not limited, you can expand and follow other people that you wouldn't normally talk to. This gives you the ability to let your circle of friends grow and grow.
Twitter is useful for for pretty much every area in your life. In your business you can tweet about how business is going and what is to come next. In your social life you can tell people what you are doing and connect with people. Through twitter you can meet up with somebody and get something to eat. When you are at a concert or big event you can tweet about it and let people know how it is. Also people from japan can send out tweets and let people know what is going on and if you are safe.
People may abuse this because the people reading your tweets could possible follow you. You have no privacy, everybody knows what you are doing and where are you.

Critical Blog Review

The use of blogs in the 21st century allows people to create their own news, they have their own freedom to the media. The function of a blog is to let people voice their opinion on a topic or current event. It is most likely that there is someone out there that will want to read our blog and be interested in your blog/ideas. This is very different then what the media used to be in the 20th century. The news/media was left to the professionals, writers and reporters. Now anybody can create their own media. A blog gives people the chance to promote their new business. Also the blog sends out information and function of the certian business.
Its a good way to promote, but also it also gives people the chance to give their reviews about the business. This could be a bad thing because if they had a bad experince they will not say anything good on the blog and everybody else will see it. Also a blog can be a good form of gossip. Someone can make a blog based on what is going on in the social life of a certian celebrity. They can blog about a cetian movie that came out recently and give it a review. This can be both good and bad because they give a bad review on the movie and then no one will go see it. Another thing people may blog about is the actual news that is going on in the world. Such as the horrible earthquake that happened in japan recently. People could make a blog reporting up to date information about what is going on over there and also they could possible even put together something that would help them...like a fundraiser. Blogging is a good way to socialize and talk with other people about events that interest you
Blogs can also be abused though too. People can take them too far sometimes. Whether it is spreading rumors or causing problem/drama. Bloggers could post some flase information about someone or something and cause a huge up raising. For example, lets say someone posted something saying that she saw a certain celeb with a different man, not being her husband. Once people see this it could spread like wild fire and give the person a bad reputation. Bloggers could take it too a new and unnecessary level.

Getting ready for College

I am looking for a roommate now. I'm very nervous about this because I am afraid that i won't get along with them. I am not used to sharing a very small room and also sharing a bathroom with a bunch of girls. It will be a big adjustment. Also, I have to figure out how i am going to get all my belongings down there to Florida. Its kind of a stressful time.

University of Tampa

I myself am going to University of Tampa, in Florida. I have gotten $9,000 in scholarship and can't wait to go. I am also going to visit Tampa in the spring for a week. There I will go on a tour around the campus and go look around the city to get a feeling of what the college is like. I'll let you know how it goes!
